When the earthquake happened, it ruined all the things in seconds. Heaven collapses and the ground caves in, the earthquake totally destroyed the beautiful earth. Broken walls, shattered ramparts have pierced through the flower-like years of people's lives. Fear and sorrow pass through the entire body from the mind to the fingertips. We feel the sensation of agony in every limb. There are thousands of children who lost their parents, homes, classmates, teachers and classrooms. Their tender souls are burdened with too much sorrow. Many of them have problem sleeping at night because of the nightmares they constantly have. They are sick, suffering, and scared.

Even if we are separated by thousands of crags and rapids, but a small solace, is that I'm actually not too distant from you. With but a few words, I can arrive by your side. Share the happiness, the happiness doubles; share the sorrow, the sorrow cuts to half.

Here we come. We travel your motherland, drink the water from your mother river and appreciated your magnificent mountains and historical site. It is trifling that we send you after our tour, but it presents our best wishes, it's the thought that counts.We will join together to help rebuild your lives with our love and our heart will always be with you.

Program Background:
A strong earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale has rocked Wenchuan in Sichuan province, some 92km northwest of Chengdu. The earthquake took place at 14:28 Beijing Time and tremors were felt as far as Wuhan, Shanghai and Beijing. The quake, whose death toll has had risen to 32,477 nationwide as of 2 p.m. on 18 May, has seriously damaged buildings, bridges and other public facilities in an area of more than 100,000 square kilometers, the number of injured reached 220,109, and this number is still constantly increasing. Please reach out to the areas devastated by the earthquake, a cent, a biscuit, one bottle of water will help someone there.

About Earthquake Orphans:
In an instant thousands of children lost their home and families during the earthquake, the orphans expect us to lend a helping hand to them and give them a happy future. This is going to be a long-term task and that is why this foundation to be set up. Children who have lost parents or been physically or psychologically scarred will be first in line for help. And with many school buildings collapsed, restoring the education system is also a priority. We will have to do a lot of work with the school system and health workers, who will need support, and work with children to help them recover psychologically.

What will Access Tibet Tour do?
Although there are more and more kind-hearted people pay attention to this disaster and helping the orphans in various ways, there are still many orphans need us reach out to. Since we are a travel agency in China and bringing tourist from all over the world to China, Access Tibet Tour & Service Co., Ltd (hereinafter, ATT)plans to set up a fund for the earthquake orphans. Beginning on May 12, 2008, our company will allocate a percentage of its income as a donation to this fund.
Every booking of a tour with us will create an automatic US$10/p.p. donation to our fund at the ATT Foundation. There will be a donation ceremony held semiannually to present the Red Cross Society of China (hereinafter, RCSC) with all donations created on a basis of every six months, and the name list of the contributors will be published on our website. 

What are the donations used for?
The donations will be used to meet the earthquake orphans’ most urgent needs. At the present time, what they critically need is money for food, clothes, teachers and school rebuilding. And there must be many orphanages built for the orphans, they still need stable funds to keep them running in right paths.

How can donators know that the donations are used properly?

ATT will guarantee that 100% of your donation will go directly to the orphans. We will provide you with the address and phone number of the RCSC. And after the orphanages are set up, we will choose one or two of them to donate stably. The use of the money is closely supervised. And every donation will be listed on our website with the donators’ names, the list will be updated weekly. It is the same as the donation we do to Dickey Orphanage in Lhasa. From the beginning of 2008, Access Tibet Tour initiates a project of "ATT Gives Back" to help children in need in Dickey Orphanage, Lhasa. We invite our customers to visit Dickey Orphanage in Lhasa, and to interact with the children and perhaps purchase the handicraft products made by the children.
