Chinese Mainland, Taiwan hold intangible cultural heritage show in Taichung
An intangible cultural heritage exhibition jointly held by the Chinese mainland and Taiwan began here Dec.12 as a move to promote cross-Strait cultural exchanges.
    The show put on display more than 800 articles from both the mainland and Taiwan. The mainland section, running from Dec. 12 to20, features more than 230 items of folk literature, traditional music and dance, drama, sports and medicine among others.
    The exhibits include costumes worn by renowned Beijing opera master Mei Lanfang and the original recording of "Moonlight on Second Spring" played by famous Erhu (Chinese two-string fiddle) musician A Bing.
    The Taiwan part, organized by the island's cultural authorities, features some 600 items covering folk custom, performing arts and crafts among others. The section will last till Feb. 28, 2010.
