From 21 Jan, foreign touristsyou need to show your passport when pruchasing train tickets and holding that particular ticket to board the train in Guangdong  Hunan and Chengdu!

If you plan to start your China Travel Plan by train from Chengdu to other cities in China main land,you need to give the copy of passports and relevant documents issued to travel agencies, or bring your passport to buy train tickets. You need to show your tickets and passport at the train station.

The pilot system announced Friday requires passengers to show their ID cards or other identification documents when purchasing train tickets at 37 stations in the southern Guangdong and Hunan provinces, and also the southwestern province of Sichuan.
